Woke in the village?

The Pinehurst Village Council will entertain a resolution on June 13, 2023, to "condemn hatred and discrimination in the Village of Pinehurst."

The resolution is rooted in a request by a community organization submitted to mayor and council member John Strickland, who independently placed it on the council's agenda.

Perhaps not by coincidence, the resolution comes during so-called Pride Month in the month of June. This expression has nothing to do with pride in our nation; it is a manufactured month of outrage calling for unfettered acceptance of gay individuals and those who identify as "transgender".

The resolution calls on the council to condemn cultural problems that heretofore have not been associated with citizens of Pinehurst -- discrimination, inequality, abuse, injustice, hatred, and violence.

Thus, the resolution will call upon residents to pledge to reverse behavior and points of view that do not exist.

And, importantly, the resolution originates with an organization that is unbeknownst to citizens who choose not to live in a state of manufactured outrage -- the Sandhills Coalition for Peace, Love and Justice.
