Governor names appointee to retiring Webb's post
Appointee (Democrat) faces opponent on '24 ballot
Military veteran Steve Bibey, a native son of Moore County, says he will plan to run for the North Carolina Superior Court seat vacated by James Webb as he reaches retirement age.
Gov. Cooper is empowered to name Webb’s successor but the appointee will face an opponent in the fall 2024 election cycle.
Bibey, elected district court judge during the previous cycle, is planning to be the opponent.
